Comments:
Quick but tough workout. Had a doctor's appointment so I didn't get to practice until a little later. Did a 17:30 warmup, or just until I felt a little loosened up. Then hit the track. I started with going 1 min around the track at 2 mile pace. Went out in 35 and the held it from there. So about 340 meters. Then I did a few strides (8) and got ready for the workout. It was:
2x1' all you got with a 3' recovery
Then 2' as many push-ups as you can
Followed by short accelerations that got lingers as they progressed
Right from the first 400 I went out hard I wasn't even checking pacing at all I was just going as hard as I could. Weishaar said pacing was a 53 give or take .5 seconds. The heat was pretty tough out there and I definitely felt a little bit dehydrated after the first one and more so after the second. I could feel the lactic acid building up when I was jogging around during the recovery. The second one I got out hard again and was hurting even 200 meters in. I went to my arms but I was tying up hard and I was just trying to finish, hit about a 59. So obviously as fast as the first one but effort wise it was tough and the effort is all that matters. Jogged around for like 3 mins then did 2 minutes of as many push-ups as I could do. I just put my recovery at 400 meters for the workout because I was just jogging in circles and that's about how much I did in total. They felt about 20x harder after the workout. With all the lactic acid I was struggling at 20. Got to 65 and I was toast. Next we did accelerations getting off the line, but first leaning forward to keep your chest over your hips. They got longer as we went on. Finished the day with a cooldown into the bird sanctuary. Im more ready than ever for states. Last year I felt like I had accomplished all that I want to accomplish by STACS but this year I feel like I still have a lot to prove, I have a chip on my shoulder. I'm ready to go.
