Comments:
this was my first high school cross country race. we took the bus to montrose, pa and got there at about 8:30. coach had me as varsity which started at 12:15, so there was a long wait. at 11:15 we started warming up. we went for 22:25. then we stretched and did speed development.i didnt feel bad, but i didnt feel great either. coach had a talk with us and then alec talked to us. after that the race began. i started out fealing really slow. i was close to last. it turns out my fist mile was about 5:50 though, which beats my 5:54 pr. then i started to pick people off one by one. i still felt like i was going slow though. i didnt feel very good throughout the race untill the very end when i started doing my kick. alec had said to beat as many vestal guys as you could, so i had to kick really fast, but i beat the vestal guy right next to me. my race time was 19:10 and my place was 22. after the race i did a realy short cooldown and went home with my dad.
