August 11, 2016 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 60s and clouds burning off ten minutes in
Comments:
Well, this was a relief. I could tell in the first ten steps that my legs didn't feel completely like junk for the first time in weeks. The one mile day yesterday, the cooler weather, and maybe the 9am hour all helped. Paused 6 minutes in at I street to stretch and leg swing which helped me get a "normal stride going, rather than a low choppy stride like I've been reduced to for the past few weeks. I was slow and tight on the various uphills, but I was surely under 8:00 per mile elsewhere and actually got some decent pace going on the return into Petaluma. Turned at the big rock at 24:40 and the return was 23:19 for a total of 47:59. Knees ached for most of it and my right heel has two annoying spots of frostbite burn from the past two nights of icing, but the plantar loosens up while I'm running at least. Drove up to Callistoga for lunch and a swim which was very nice, as always.
