Exercise Type: Run
Weather: sunny, but chilly, overall good running weather
Comments:
woke up 6 oclock. got ready, then ate a bagel and drank water. got to west at 7:30, went on the bus to newtown. we had to start warming up pretty much right when we got there because the JV race started at 9:10. after the warmup, we stretched and went to the starting line. it took ten minutes for me to double not my shoe, so i was not able to get any speed developement in. the race started and i got up to fourth pretty quickly. then i progressed to second. our team had 1-8 places at this point. i passed tim a little before the 2 mile mark. now i was in 1st. i kept running, but i felt like i could have gone a lot faster if someone was still ahead of me to push me. i went down the downhill really fast right before the big uphill came. i kept my stride rate the same but shortened my stride up the hill. at the top, i was exgausted but i feel like i could have had a stronger finish at the end of the race. my time was 19:23:19 and i came in first for jv. the team had places 1,2,3,5,6,7,8, and 9; so we won as a team also.
