Not a good workout for me. I owe it to my teammates to be smarter than this. I can't get injured again and jeaprodize me coming back. I'm not sure what it was but for some reason I just turned it up competitively during the workout I tried to keep it down but I just couldn't do it. It's just been so long since I've been able to just go out and push myself, and I guess I was just trying to convince myself that I still had it and could still be a threat racing. Anyways I started with a 1.5 mile warmup and then some drills. I was gonna be running in flats today which I was a little nervous about because there is a lot more of a heal drop than in my other shoes and I'm not sure how my Achilles would respond. Anyways we started out the workout and I felt great the pace felt easy and I was just breathing out of my nose pretty much. The next few felt the same way, I didn't really feel the getting harder and I wasnt feeling it more in my muscles or aerobically as the workout progressed. This surprised me a lot because I thought I would have a lot of trouble with the pacing. Anyways we were a few seconds too much below the paces for all of the first 5. Some were better than others but they were all a little below. That was after we would just slow the pace down cruise from halfway until the end. My 6th rep my last one was just out of control. I sorta just let it go, and this is the one I gotta apologize for because I set pace from the start. We went out controlled but after like 300 meters I started picking it up with Derf. I let up a little at the end but the work had already been done, I went way too quick. Got a much deserved scolding by coach. And I'm gonna try my best to keep that workout at the prescribed paces no matter what. Sometimes though I want to push myself I gotta remember coach has been here for years and he knows exactly what he's doing. I gotta have full trust in that, sometimes I loose that and have to regain that. Finished with a little over a mile with Cole and then did hurdles and abs.
