September 20, 2016 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: humid, but cool
Comments:
Woke at 5:15 and drove to meet Navy Half Marathon Champion Daniel Samet at the Bethesda Pool at 5:45. He'd run over and politely meet me at my morning pace. We headed down the trail to the mile marker below the reservoir and, after a few leg swings, returned as the sky began to lighten a bit. Pace built throughout and I felt remarkably easy despite running significantly faster than i have most of the past few months. An encouraging run and always a great pleasure to run with Daniel. (I think I made him hurt a bit as he's not very strong these days. His 1:10 half marathon debut and victory Sunday was just a fluke. The last mile being below 7:00 was surely more than he could handle.)
