Commonland

September 28, 2016 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Low 70s

Comments:
Run time is approximate. I remember seeing 62 or 63 minutes after the run, but I accidentally resumed the stopwatch on my watch in the car so when I got home it said 76 minutes.

Lifted first today, then ran. Started out behind, but then fell fell further behind because I had to stop at an extra crosswalk. I've noticed that some days it can take about 4 miles for me to really feel warmed up or in the zone. That's why I usually enjoy 10+ mile runs because after a certain point the pain mostly goes away. However, other days I'll feel pretty warmed up after a mile. Today was my first Commonland, so falling behind was not advantageous. Luckily for me, Tristan was behind too because his legs were bothering him, so he showed me where to go on the Giles trails instead of turning left onto Giles St. from the Wildflower Preserve. Once we got to Commonland, and then to the E Ithaca Rec Way, Tristan went ahead because he had to leave early. I already knew where to go because I had run on the E Ithaca Rec Way already this summer by myself. Anyway, went back through Cayuga Heights, then down Gun Hill. One thing I'm not sure of is if running down hills really will mess up my knees. I love on West Hill half of the time, and run down hills all the time, and I've never really felt my knees feel sore. Got back and did drills and strides. When I got home I took my dog for a jog around the field at the back of my house as a cooldown, and because she'd been inside all day.
