Road to Perdition

October 18, 2016 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Back to logging. My only explain nation for not logging is that I have just been really bogged down with college stuff and now I'm finally wrapping it all up. I'll fill out the rest of my logs in the next 2 days. Happy I'm doing early decision so I can just focus on other things throughout the year and not have that decision looming over my back. Anyways back to the run, on the warmup my legs were defiantly sore, yesterday was my first day bumping up my weight a lot in the squat and I was really feeling it, hamstrings, quads, and glutes all very sore but I guess that's what you get when you bump your weight from 95 lbs to 155 lbs. I was feeling okay on the warmup not great but just normal. Got to Stewart and ran the course. It felt really short, I knew this workout would be short and sweet, as it would go by quickly and be more quality than most of the stuff that we have been doing lately. That is something that I need as I haven't had many times where I can just let my legs fly. My heel felt sore before the workout, for some reason it always does before workouts and then it goes away so I just ignored. The first few reps flew by for me. Silas led the first one, then the next 2 or so we're a little inconsistent. I took over one of them and kept a pretty consistent pace. But besides that they were a little uneven. But we still hit our times so it's fine. I was breathing a little harder than normal but I knew it was fine as I need to get used to breathing harder sooner rather than later because that's something you have to get used to while racing. When the hammer ones came around I didn't know what to expect. The first one went out a little hard but nothing too serious, I was putting forth a effort but nothing close to all out. I coasted my way in. The next rep I took over and went just a little faster than the one before, I was working a little harder but not much. The next two I defiantly had to work for my times. Derf took the next one out hard, definitely harder than the last two and I knew it was time to work, a time to really test myself and dig deep. I held back a little at the start and just told myself I just gotta be patient and close on the second half. After the 200 mark I started to work to catch up, I just squeezed the pace down and we finished together for the last 50 meters in 58. I knew my strength was in the close so I tried to run that rep to my strengths. The next one was pretty similar. Derf went out pretty hard again and when he was pulling away I knew he was trying to drop me. However I just told myself to be patient and that I'd get him at the end. After probably like 250 I started to just pick up my turnover, I knew that the completion won't let Derf go like that so I knew it was my duty to get back up with him and push him. The faster turnover digit belt helped me get back up and me and Derf finished in 57. The next one I just feel like I was doing the rep extra tired than everyone else and I struggled to keep up a little bit. I finished it but I felt like my recovery was slower than everyone else's. I felt that way on Sandbank too after the hill. The next rep I was able to get back to where I was before and could keep up without a problem. The last one I was able to do the same. I felt really dehydrated after the workout but after I drank a full water I was fine. Had a solid cooldown, where I was feeling so smooth and just pumped up, then finished with hurdles. I'm back.
