I went to the indoor track meeting today after school. I don't think I'll be doing it, but I figured I'd show up just so I can make an informed decision. Even if I don't do indoor track, that doesn't mean I won't run over the winter.
I also wasn't aware until today of the two week break after XC season. That works well for me because I was planning on taking some rest days anyway because of my sore/strained left Achilles. Even though I wasn't running today, I still decided to do some lifting and core at home. I did a Pyramid workout, with some inspiration from Liam's body weight workout for the JV boys during the beginning of the season (August 31st I believe). The workout was:
20 dumbbell presses (12.5 lbs. each arm)
1 min. running arms (2 lbs. each arm)
10 bicep curls each arm (12.5 lbs.)
15 squats (25 total lbs.)
1 min. plank
50 crunches
15 leg lifts
50 cherry-pickers
2 min. wall sit
30 push-ups
50 cherry-pickers
15 leg lifts
50 crunches
1 min. plank
15 squats (25 total lbs.)
10 bicep curls each arm (12.5 lbs.)
1 min. running arms (2 lbs. each arm)
20 dumbbell presses (12.5 lbs. each arm)
I actually wasn't that tired afterwards, but maybe that's because I'e gotten stronger. Not quite sure. The two minute wall sit definitely was tiring though. I'll up reps next time for some of them.
