Back logging for good. Today we had repeat 800's. We did a 10 min warmup into fall creek then we got back to the track for a few drills and strides. The workout was a progression where we would do 5-6 800s and the first one would be 700 at tempo and the last 100 at cross pace, then next would be 600 at tempo and 300 at threshold and so on, the last one for me was 200 at tempo and 600 at cross pace. The first one I got out to about 1:22 to start out and we hit 2:40. Next one I got out in about 1:21 and we hit 2:38. I felt good out front controlling the pace. I was trying to keep it consistent so everyone else could benefit. Next one I got out in 1:21 again and then we finished in 2:34, the next one we decided that we should take the tempo a little slower than before. Next got out in front so I let him take the tempo and we went a little slower just like we wanted to, then when we got the 400 mark for cross pace I took over and we hit 2:34 again. The next one I went out controlled and then with 500 to go I went. I felt pretty good and just wanted to push it a little, just test myself at the end and I hit 2:24. The last one I was still feeling really good and I didn't feel all that tired, I took the first 200 out in around 41 at tempo pace then I closed the last 600 in 1:34. I pushed hard in the middle of the last lap where I would in a race. It just felt good to go out and test myself. I finished and felt like I still had more left. I felt like right there and then I could've broken 2 even after the other 800s I was just feeling good. We closed with a last 200 and I went somewhere between 26-27. I didn't know how I feel in this workout with not doing a workout for a little bit on the track but I am really happy with how it went. Got a 10
