Exercise Type: Run
Weather: sun strengthening and 70s
Comments:
woken around 7 by the girls to get donuts. That was my first delay. Tom arrived with more pastries... second delay. Puzzle needed to be finished. Sink needed replacing. Didn't end up running until 10am or so when the clouds were nearly fully burned off. Found myself going out of town on D Street and despite the uphills early on, I felt good enough to commit to the loop over on San Antonio Rd and back along I Street. It was reassuring to feel pretty good after yesterday's horrid 3 miler. Just goes to show the difference a day can make. The route was nice in this direction, despite the hills early and the hills 2/3rds through. It was nice to get away from the big trucks roaring past on that final leg. Felt pretty good, although I definitely fatigued by the final few miles and the left knee starts to nag off and on , mostly near the end. I found my mind still fighting with my body on the hills, but I did manage to attack that final climb back into town. Hard to know pace. I'm guessing I started slower than 8s and got down to 7:40s at my best moments. I can tell I'm in shape and I don't feel awful, but I'm not powerful or strong yet. Can't quite call this a "long run," which is probably a good thing, but which means I'll need to go "long" soon.
