Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Im getting tired of being dizzy at the end of races

Comments:
Today was a good day. I started off well, had a large breakfast and packed a clif bar to eat with 3 hours out. When we got there and ran the course, I ate a bagel and waited a bit, then ate my clif bar. We cheered on the boiz then warmed up. By this point, I had drunk three bottles of water and 2 big glasses and was feeling good. I felt strong during the warmup, definitely tired from the week, but strong. After that, we got on the line and did drills, strides, and the tempo. At this point I was feeling great; I was handling the adrenaline really well. With about a 2 minutes to go, I started feeling nauseous, and I was like "Oh sh*t", it went away for about 30 seconds, and then came back. With like 20 seconds to go, I threw up, stepped back to recuperate for a couple seconds, and got back on the line. The gun went off, I got out hard. I felt insanely smooth and fast the first 800, and I felt like a varsity runner for the first time ever. I was with Noah at this point, and I was in the top ten. I didn't look down then, and during the entire rest of the race, I didn't look down a single time. Nobody yelled out the mile time, but I didn't need to hear it, I knew I was going fast. I had dropped off a bit from Noah at this point, but was making an effort not to get dropped. I can't remember exactly when Xannies caught up to me, but I am pretty sure it was around here. After about 400? meters of running relatively alone, Ben caught up to me, and we ran roughly close to each other for the next mile. By the second mile, I was dying but I refused to let up with my pace even though everything hurt. The last 400 was a blur, and I am pretty sure I went faster, but I knew I didn't kick hard. I was mad dizzy by the end of it, and threw up again, but it was gucci.

8/10

Things I did well: My first 1.5 miles were fire. I stuck with the rest of the boiz and wasn't afraid of the inevitable pain.

Things I did badly: I somewhat gave into the pain the last mile, and didn't kick hard.

Things I can improve on: Not being gapped in the last mile. That last mile is really when I want to start working, and so far I have wimped out every time. I think this is one of the last, biggest obstacles for me as a runner.
