Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 50ish

As is so often the way when I'm in Petaluma on vacation, I delayed the start of my run over ad over, partly due to reluctance to leave the warm cheeriness of the house and partly because I felt guilty not doing my share to prepare for the guests (Tom and three German relatives.) This time it paid off as Tom called to say he and they were locked out of Anne's house and needed Carol's key. I told Carol I'd run it over and even though it probably was 3 minutes slower than driving the 1.2 miles... I did just that. Took off with good determination and loosened somewhat as I ran at a good clip (Felt like it could have been anywhere from 6:00-6:45 pace.) Got the keys into Tom's hand at 7:13. Introduced myself to the cousins and then went around the corner to stretch for a minute before continuing at a more mellow, but still decent pace. Wrapped up McNear before taking a premature turn in the dark up what turned out to be a driveway not Purrier. Ended up navigating steep hillsides in the dark. Tried to sneak into someone's backyard in hopes of finding their driveway, only to be chased away by the lights of their car pulling up. Eventually followed deer trails and scrambled down onto I street. Returned in the usual fashion with a last mile below 6:30 pace, give or take. A nice run.
