hill trails

July 19, 2018 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 80s and not humid!

Comments:
The weather has taken a nice turn and it definitely helped. Also, I just noticed I felt relatively fresh and somewhat light this afternoon as I got ready for practice. I lead a big group with Aidan Urbina, a new STA freshman named Tristan who has promise, Sunshine Elias, Spud Sequoia Satola, The Old Man of the Sea Buchwald, Sophia Charles of NCS, Becket, and Liam of STA. We took five hills at an honest effort. W St. from 42nd in Glover Park, the Whitehaven trail form Glover tr up to victory gardens the Whitehaven trail form 37th up to the Holy Rood Cemetery, Lovers' Ln up to Mass and Normanstone (Fulton) all the way to Garfield. I stayed controlled on all of them, but they were still work and it would have been diminishing returns if I'd actually attacked any of them. All in all, I felt better than I have on any run in a few weeks. I may be fooling myself, but I'm thinkiing the right groin injury may be improving slightly. Unfortunately, I'm still feeling tightness in the lower right back and general core area after every run and don't feel like I'm sitting straight at any point in the day without achiness in the lower right back. I guess I should see Dr. Beck next week.
