January 3, 2019 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: near 60
Comments:
This run will be remembered for the incredible sunset, Si's climb on his bike up an absurd hill to access Pacific Heights, the viewing of the house Si helped build on Divisidaro, and the frustration of being decently fit, but unable to enjoy downhills or a run like this because my lower right back hurts so much. We set off around 4:30 and enjoyed a nice run along the edge of the Presidio (after setting Leah up to run hills on Balboa between 20th and 21st). There were some good hills and I kept a decent pace on the final 20 minutes, but I couldn't really get moving quickly as my piriformis was so tight and limiting. I did manage a decent foam roll and some clams, etc once back home. We drove down to SF from Petaluma mid day. Over-ate at a dim sum restaurant, and at night at a good taco shop and Buy Right (for ice cream).
I've finally managed to back log the runs I'd not yet logged over the past three weeks... Seems like I eeked out a few more miles in 2018 than I had in '16 or '17, but fell well short of '15. Either way, it is interesting to note I generally run the same miles every year, give or take a smidge.
