Decided I shouldn't aggravate my back by running today, so I jumped on my bike after a day of writing thank you notes and grading third grade work. I wanted to get out before dark and bike up as many hills as possible. I wound my way through Chevy Chase DC with some hill sprints near Lafayette and on McKinley. After going up the long road to the Tennis Center in Rock Creek, I had the inspiration to park my bike and do the parcourse. I'd biked hard for about 23 minutes and then did all sorts of inverted sit ups, obliques, push ups, pull ups, chin ups, dips, along with some lateral motion shuffling and mixed in four about 45 second strides from station to station. I felt heavy, slow, awkward, and completely out of breath for most of this and then jumped onto my bike and raced back to home working hard up the Military Ave Bike path and McKinley Street, etc. Final ride was about 17 minutes. Felt satisfyingly tired but not too achy in the usual places when I was done. Adding in about 12 minutes of core work and sprints in the middle, I was exercising for about 52 minutes.
