Return to Log Return to Log

Again... time to backlog...

January 19, 2019 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: upper 30s

Comments:
Started off not knowing where I'd go, but wanting to run up to half an hour. I'm really not very excited about my training these days (if the two week delays in logging aren't enough indication of that), and I blame this mostly on the fact that my right hip, pelvis, lower back, and groin ache every time I try to run (or get up or roll over in bed, etc). I can tell I'm not running evenly and that I'm overcompensating for weaknesses/imbalance/hernia with every step. I'm also aware that my body loosens up after a few minutes, but then quickly begins to worsen as my overtaxed core muscles fatigue. IN other words, the longer I run, the more dramatic the effects. I also think true speed bothers me more than steady. I will note, however, that brisk steady with a high step count seems better than slower, plodding runs. Bottom line, most runs are upsetting me.

Either way, I felt pretty good, all in all on this run. I headed up 41st to Western, but due to traffic light, turned left on Western. I then fell into the fairly standard Wisc to Bradley to Conn to Livingston loop. (Not sure I can compare times, though due to the round-about start.) I didn't consciously try for a tempo pace, but as I always do on this loop, I ran it as a progression and felt like I was moving plenty quick. Averaged somewhere around 7:00 for the second half, I hope. Finished without a kick, but with a deliberate effort up Livingston in 1:51 which is always a good sign for that final two block stretch. Total time was just under 25.
