Read online on some blog that hill repeats are good cross training for rowing, and since I currently don't have access to an erg, I did some.
Ended up doing 8 by 1:00 hill sprints, holy cow I forgot how much they hurt. Rowing hurts, but its in a very specific area and its a direct pain. Running just makes everything feel like crap. It also didn't help that I'm lugging an extra 15-20 pounds since I last did this workout.
Biked the warmup and cooldown because it targets rowing muscles better than running.
