For what might have been just the first or second time ever, I decided to run Dad's loop backwards. It was like I was on an unfamiliar planet. This loop was only meant to be run forwards. Luckily, Anna accompanied me on her bike for all but the last 3/4 mile and she was pleasant company. I started slow and didn't speed up much despite my increasing my effort. Mostly, I was feeling the race Tuesday, the day off from running yesterday, the biking yesterday, and the usual Nantucket fatigue from playing in the ocean and walking a lot. Pace started north of 8 and last mile was around 7:30 after two middle miles at 8:00.
