Warm-up was a little under a mile (I got there a little later than I planned). Raced and then cooled down for a little over a mile. Had a really good race. I think my high school PR was 18:56, on a flat course. I ran 18:11 on a hilly course and got 3rd place overall. I was in 5th with 400 to go and then kicked past two high school kids. The winner ran 17:46 and broke the course record of 17:49, second place ran 17:54. I was at exactly 6:15 for mile 1 and exactly 12:15 for mile 2. I was getting tired between 1.5-2.0, but I sucked it up and got my ass in gear to finish that last mile plus in 5:56. My kick was great and I'm confident my last 200 was 32-33. Needless to say I had gas in the tank that I should have used in the middle of the race. Oh, well. My goal was 18:30 or at least beat my high school PR.
