Really didn't feel sharp going into this one. Might be coming down with something. Gonna take some nyquil tonight and try to sleep it off.
Workout was 5x300 @ mile pace with equal rest then 3x8min tempo.
Thought this was gonna be a real grinder but it turned out pretty well and I felt real strong during the tempo sections - better than I was expecting.
6x30m strides felt pretty good. Actually did the 2-3 min jog in between which meant starting reps every 200m ish and jogging the rest. Felt alright but I still wasn't feeling very sharp.
300's started off pretty slow. I was okay being conservative because it was cold, I was wearing a sweatshirt and tights and wasn't feeling good. But after the first I was pretty locked in around 54 sec/300. Based on quick mental math I thought that sounded about right.
Last few reps I was starting to feel the short rest but I didn't think it was too much - still felt strong.
Tempo sections felt super easy to start after the quick mile pace. First few laps were quick. I was running them backwards on the track and for a good portion of the tempo I was in lane 2 dodging a few others. So the gps was way off on distance (also it auto lapped the watch after a mile so I had to do some quick mental math onthe second split)
Anyway the point is I was pretty dead on around 6:00 pace the whole time but the gps thought otherwise.
Also forgot what the rest was between 300's and tempo so I only did 3min but felt fully recovered. Also forgot the rest between tempo blocks but correctly guessed 2 minutes
