Came into the race pretty nervous about running hard, talked to the gprep transfer beforehand and decided to tuck in behind him, through in 31, 64 but felt surprisingly good. He slowed down a lot 2nd 400, 69 (2:13). Took the lead halfway around the 5th lap, still feeling good, but he tried to take off halfway into lap 6. Through 3rd 400 in 69, worked back up to him, and blazed past him last 100 (66). Did not feel like a full effort, glad I have something to work with. New spikes=awesome.

15 minutes later, 4x800 w/ 2 min rest outside on the dark track 2:39, 2:26, 2:24, 2:27. Lot of lactic acid buildup.
