Did I always suffer like this in the heat?

June 10, 2020 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: upper 80s and humid

Comments:
Another painful run. I started off around 5:20pm with Anna alongside on her bike. Didn't feel perky, but felt decent as we went down Reno. Route was across Ft. Reno and back way to loop the Cathedral before returning along Wisc and 41st. By the time we passed the Cathedral, I was overheated and wiped out, wanting to stop for stretching breaks and water. No public water fountains these days... A street light or two along Wisc was just enough to give me renewed strength to continue. Grabbed a drip of water from a drainpipe outside of CVS/Hechingers to put on my head. Shirt came off before the Dancing Crab. I convinced a woman to hold up her hose near Ellicott as I ran past and those ten drips were essential to my survival. Once home, there was some guzzling of water and a couple of minutes with the hose on me in the backyard. I could have sworn my pace was suffering as badly as me, but strangely enough, my pace past SFS was 7:30 and the last mile with its downhill was 7:08?! Not sure I could have slowed down if I'd wanted and there was no way I could have accelerated. Felt like I was on a perma-pace and just motivated to get the suffering over with. Man o man... When will I acclimate?

Oh yeah I wore my new shoes and that was nice. feet were a little less achy. The shoes didn't amazing, but there was definitely some support where there hadn't been as these were nearly 500 miles fresher than the last pair of Vongos.
