August 30, 2020 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 80 and low humidity
Comments:
Beautiful weather all day. Looped within a few blocks of my house to test out the leg. Wound felt tight and strained, but it loosened up some near the end. It was nice to be running again.
This was my first run since last Sunday. After the puncture wound I sustained last Sunday night, the wound became infected and on Tuesday morning I got started with antibiotics. Right leg was swollen from knee to top of foot. Leg was aching a lot on Monday and I struggled to put weight on it from Tuesday through Thursday unless I was using Advil. By Saturday the infection was down to just the inch or so around the wound. After this Sunday afternoon run, the pain was more of just a sensation, and I declare myself ready to return to normalcy. AS the infection receded last week, there was a lot of generalized swelling in the lower leg and foot, but that has also begun to clear up over the weekend. Will get the two stitches out on Monday afternoon.
