January 16, 2022 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 30ish and snow falling fairly strongly
Comments:
Headed out around 4:15 and wandered without much purpose up through Somerset, Norwood Park, Bethesda, including a bit on the Crescent, past Katherine Treanor's, up Meadow Ln, and home via Conn with a detour through Chevy Chase to extend to 6 miles. Up Livingston was 2:23 and while the effort was certainly close to 7:30, the surfaces probably kept me closer to 8 pace. There was about 2 inches of accumulating, fine snow on all the roads and sidewalks and the wind was from the north meaning my legs, eyebrows, and eyelashes were well coated with accumulating snow, especially every time I headed into the wind. My finishing southward was the right choice. Thankfully, Meadow Ln had been plowed recently and was a decent surface with just a thin layer of snow for the long uphill. A solid finish to a week which didn't have as much mileage as I would have liked.
