Drove down from Petaluma to Berkeley late morning and spent the rest of the day hanging at Sarah and John's. Burma Superstar for lunch, some reading, and a pair of short naps before driving to meet the Yak, his wife and 4 month old daughter in their adorable bungalow (and adorable dog). Followed the bearded one up Hopkins St and eventually into the hills. He kindly opted not to force us up the biggest ones, but they were definitely hills. Got a few tremendous views of SF Bay and descended through a maze of fabulous narrow trails between properties which Nutters has mastered through his pandemic running of 95% of the Berkeley streets. I was satisfied with my surviving the hills, but the legs were beat and the last two miles on the mostly flat felt like the end of another long run. Really nice to see my former 3rd grader 25 years after he vomited in our classroom doorway and 12? years after he graduated from the Ford. Grateful he could meet up. A tremendous dinner at Great China, a stop at Bi-Rite for a cone and bunked down in SF.
