Cold, crisp morning with Professor McFerran

Weather: 20 and clear

Comments:
Sammy Mac picked me up at 7:15 and we dropped his car off at the dealership in Bethesda. Ran slowly down the Crescent nearly to the Little Falls crossing when we spotted a tall redhead wearing the same hopper knit hat I was wearing. Stopped to chat with that John Biersteker and joined forces. Ran back up the trail and then stairs down to Little Falls and up through Battery Bailey before finishing up Western and Fessenden, parting ways at Pete's Pizza and dropping Sam at his house. Last half mile home alone was solo and at 7 flat, feeling good to open up the stride a bit. Good to have time with Sam, but also good to hear from John about his work getting a satellite launched in the direction of Europa, Jupiter's moon. Will be donating blood at noon. Sounds like JB's train will be late, so there won't be an afternoon run after all today. The increased massaging of my aching right heel and calf is helping some, I think. Distance was hopefully closer to 6 miles as our pace started at mid 9s, but was dropping throughout the run into the 8s.
