Comments:
Air Force Half Marathon at AA. Started at 0630, goal was to finish under 2 hours. I had some thought of doing a proper run-walk-run strategy, but couldn't bring myself to walk in the first 6 miles or so. Walked regularly in the second half, for 30-60 seconds at a stretch.
The Garmin was very helpful in gauging my progress and keeping me on track for my overall pace.
My longest training run was 8 miles, and was a bad run--the longest good one was 6 miles. Started feeling some soreness and fatigue at 7 miles, more acute by 10. Felt pretty good in the last mile, knowing the finish line was near--then end of the course was 1/4 mile around the track at approx an 8:00 pace (vs 8:55 average).
