Comments:
i got 8.5 hours of sleep 2 night before and 8 last night. i had stoganoff for dinner, then i had an egg sandwich for breakfast, and a muffin on the bus and a bunch of water. we changed a lot of things which may have ended up maybe messing people up. like we didnt play advances wars, random stuff like that. we did mostly our normal warmup. i put 3/8ths in my spikes. we got on the line and i was extremely nervous, but my stategy was to be conservative and break out at the 1.5 mile mark. i started out far back, and moved my way forward throughout the race. i saw ryan coming back to me a about the 2 mile mark, and josh was wasy ahead. for a while josh was only about 6 seconds ahead, and that is where i should have made my move but instead i stayed behind ryan, and josh got further away. i finally realized that i had to move, and so i git up with ryan and tried to pass him, knowing that tim would follow, but then i just couldnt do it. for a while i was right behind ryan and then i didnt have a very good kick at the end, tim and ryan both finished right ahead of me. i think my time was 17:13. im going to states, which was my goal since last year, but unfortunately i could not bring the team with me this year. at first i thought i had a pretty good race, but i realized that was only in comparison to ryan, who did not have a good race. ithaca won this year, and im really disappointed because i really wanted the win, but they came on strong and we just didnt have it in us today. more insentive towards next year and to states next week. im not going to lose to josh again, whether im in 1st or last of our guys. we did a cooldown and went cheered on the girls after. lani was the only girl who made it. Ithaca is going to see how strong our 4 guys can be next week, thats all i can say.
