jog to au, right hip flexor hurt, whatever. anthony says workout will be 4x400 with full recovery and "a little something after" and we're supposed to go all out on the 400s. ran 80, 83, 82, 81. they were really hard and I was breathing hard, but by the end of the 400m recovery (+ a stop at the water fountain each time), i felt ready to do another one. after the 4 4s, he split us into 2 groups. most people got to do one more 4 and be done, but he wanted me and a few others to run an 8. i would have liked to do the 4 and be done, but i know that longer stuff makes more sense for me since i'm a 2miler. he wanted the 8 at or below mile pace. i ran 3:02 (very even 91 and 91). it like didn't feel fast, but my legs were jello and I couldn't go any faster. it was weird and kinda frustrating. all the others drank a bunch of water after the 8, but i was like not satisfied so i was really glad when anthony said we weren't done. the last 400 was supposed to be all out, and i gave it what i had...i ran an 80 high or 81 low. i was absolutely exhausted - this feels like the hardest workout i've ever run, probably because each interval was the "last one" so I pushed really hard for all of them. I jogged back... i felt better as the jog went on, although it was harder than usual to catch my breath. all in all, a really intensely-run workout...i came home drenched in sweat and like too tired to carry my backpack downstairs. this was exactly what i needed; running workouts proves to myself that i'm strong and in good shape, and it had been too long since the last workout for me confidence-wise. i needed to run something like this so i could calm my worries about if i'm ready for draper and championships, but now i feel good, or at least more good. wow, that's not proper english. i need to stop writing...
